Music magazine annotations.

Contents page 1

This contents page seems to be plain and boring. This contents page is for the magazine Q which is a magazine on rock music but also focuses on other types of music genres. As this magazine is mostly about rock music, the colours of the contents page shows this by using darker images and colour that will relate to the more intense sound of rock music and can help interact with each reader. As the stereotypical audience for the magazine is people who enjoy listening to light rock music the dark colours will help each person relate to the magazine. As for the other genres of music, the white background helps brighten up the page which assists other readers to relate to the page and the music shown.

The layout of the contents page is simple but unconventional which shows the creativity of the person who created the magazine. On usual magazines the page references would usually be on the right hand side.
There are only two images on this page. This is so that the images are more useful to the audience. The images are of a medium to large scale so that the viewer can see the images up close. This makes the reader see the article as an image first and this helps show the audience what the article is about and if they should read it.
This contents page is very unusual for many reasons. Firstly for a rock magazine you would expect very bright colours and information randomly allocated on the page and this is not shown in this case. This magasine is very organised and would more likely project a business magazine and not the stereotypical rock magazine.
